Malaysia Night 2008
It is presented by the Malaysian Students Association of The University of Warwick (Warwick MSA)
BREAKTHROUGH
... a journey towards liberation
Malaysia has had 50 years of independence – can the same be said of her people?
A casual meeting at the local mamak (Malaysian equivalent of a café) marks the start of something more for five young people as a brief incident with a pirated DVD seller raises questions from the past and causes unsavoury deeds thought to have been long forgotten to come to light.
Throw in Merdeka celebrations in the backdrop, a love story, martial arts, ruthless ah longs (loan sharks), corruption, cultural diversity, song, dance and intrigue...
...Warwick MSA presents BREAKTHROUGH - a story of love, friendship and independence.
Programme:
1700 Dinner* (Rootes Restaurant, Rootes Social Building)
1900 Performance (Butterworth Hall, Warwick Arts Centre)
Menu: 3-course-meal of Nasi Minyak, Ayam Masak Merah & Gado-gado, followed by Bubur Cha Cha for dessert.
Tickets:
£15: Dinner and performance (limited)
£8: Performance only (£6 Warwick)
Ticket bookings can be sent to:
warwick.mnight.tickets@googlemail.com
Alternatively, performance tickets can be purchased from the Warwick Arts Centre Box Office starting next week.
