Can students and students dependents work in the UK?

A lot of foreign students (from outside the UK) are unsure whether they would be allowed to work in the country and the numbers of hours, if they are.

Well the answer is YES. If you are on a student visa you are allowed part-time or holiday work but not more than 20 hours a week during term time.

If you are going to be studying for at least 12 months, then your dependent will be allowed to work full time.

  1. Hi Adam,
Glad to learn that the dependents are allowed to work. Been following your blogs to learn more on life in Coventry. Everything goes well, we will arrive mid Sept latest. Hope to meet you and family.
