Malaysian Film Day at Warwick

Just received an e-mail informing me about Malaysian Film Day (23 June 2007) which will be organised at the Warwick Arts Centre at the University of Warwick.

It is a collaborative project between the Warwick Arts Centre and the Malaysian Society in University of Warwick and aims to introduce Malaysian cinema to the international community in the university and also the people in West Midlands.

The films that will be screened are:

Dir: Yasmin Ahmad
2007 94mins subtitled

Director Yasmin Ahmad’s award winning third feature is a coming of age story which deals with the complicated friendship of Orked and Mukhsin. At the recent 57th Berlin Film Festival, Mukhsin was awarded the Grand Prix by the Kinderfilmfest International Jury and a Generation K-Plus Crystal Bear Special Mention.

Gol & Gincu
Dir: Bernard Chauly
